Original Toronto Star caption: Mounted On Horseback; police move in to try to control the crowd; estimated at 4;000; running hysterically about in Allan Gardens. Shouts of kill; kill; kill; filled the air and eight men-all but one of them innocent passersby-were clubbed to the ground and kicked in the face. In the rioting; touched off by word a Nazi meeting was to be held in the park; six of the injured were youths who happened to be wearing black jackets or shirts. The seventh was a Pentecostal minister. One self-styled Nazi received injuries and was arrested by police.
