Original Toronto Star caption: Fishing outports are where you'll find the Newfoundland that visitors fall in love with. Many of them were until recently connected with the outside world only by boat. Now many connect by highway with the rest of the island - but you have to get off the Trans-Canada Highway; Newfoundland's main street; to find them. From some of them you can spot icebergs in the Atlantic even in summer.
