Original Toronto Star caption: Northern Ontario's largest inland boat; Chief Commanda; to be used for Lake Nipissing cruises; slid down the ways at North Bay after being whacked by the traditional bottle of champagne with Mrs. C. E. Reynolds; of North Bay; doing the honors. Owned by the Ontario Northland Transportation commission of which Col. Reynolds is chairman; the boat; a 106-foot vessel powered by twin Diesel engines will se touris serivce next season. A near mishap followed the floating of the Chief Commanda when a strong wind blew it toward the dock and near smaller craft. Quick work by dock hands averted the impending trouble.
