Original Toronto Star caption: Oakville celebrates almost everything; Oakville marked its 150th anniversary; the Queen's Silver Jubilee and the mayor's annual picnic with one bang-up celebration yesterday. The festivities started at 9.30. and ended with a giant fireworks display at 10 p.m. It attracted thousands of visitors to Coronation Park; the Bronte Athletic Field and the harborfront. Among the popular events were cruises all day along the waterfront aboard the Mariposa Belle; a reproduction of a 19th century sternwheeler steamer. And there was a sailpast.
