Original Toronto Star caption: Gordon Sinclair goes down to the sea to see the mighty struggle: All Gloucester; Mass.; rejoiced when the race committee confirmed settlement of differences between Capt. Angus Walters skipper of the Canadian fishing schooner Bluenose; and Capt. Ben Pine of the Gertrude L. Thebaud; U.S. challenger to the North Atlantic championship. Capt. Pine said his ship (Left) was ready to run around any course. He favored one with short legs to give spectators a better view of the contest. Capt. Walters held out for a 36-mile triangular course.
