Original Toronto Star caption: Happy crowds of all ages lined University Ave. last night for the second running of the mammoth Shrine parade; up University; along Bloor to Varsity Stadium. Lights flashed from the gleaming blades of scimitars and rhinestones on marchers' red fezzes. An estimated 500;000 persons were on hand. When the last Shrine Temple marched out of Varsity Stadium at 2.30 a.m. today; only a few hundred were left. One Shriner died of a heart attack after parade.
