Original Toronto Star caption: Boxing day sales get Sunday start; Bargain hunters were out in force Sunday as several downtown Toronto stores began their traditional Boxing Day sales a day early; people lined up for half a block and waited as much as half an hour to get into Tip Top Tailors and Fairweathers on Yonge St. For most stores Boxing Day sales start today. Eaton's and Simpsons downtown stores will be open to 9 p.m.; 9.30 in suburbs. A police official said it is illegal for stores to be open on Sunday but nothing would be done.
