Original Toronto Star caption: Toppled by winds; a tree on Cowan Ave. near Melbourne Ave. lies across the crushed hood of an automobile after bringing down power lines as it fell; cutting off electricity to nearby homes. As it fell it also ripped a huge branch off tree in background; and pulled down three concrete hydro poles. In some areas of Metro; homes were without electric power for as long as three-and-a-half-hours.
