Original Toronto Star caption: Curling rink is smashed at Boulevard Club on Lake Shore Blvd. by waves and ice yesterday during height of blizzard. Damage estimates are more than $100;000. It's worse than Hurricane Hazel (October; 1954); said club employee Charlie Pogue as he watched 6-foot-high waves sweep through men's locker room and pro shop. Whole wall alongside curling rink caved in; we didn't know what to do. It was an awful sound of crunching . . .
