Original Toronto Star caption: Defiant TTC strikers leave a union meeting yesterday in a Scarborough curling rink at which they voted to hold a secret ballot tomorrow on whether to return to work at 12.01 a.m. Wednesday. They were warned at the meeting they face $1;000-a-day fines if they don't to work. Premier William Davis has called together leaders of the union and the Toronto Transit Commission in an attempt to get the transit rolling in time for the reopening of schools tomorrow.
