Original Toronto Star caption: Face to face for first time; TTC commissioners (left) join strike negotiators at the Royal York Hotel yesterday. Negotiators are now discussing the major issues-wages and split shifts for drivers. They hope to reach a tentative agreement within a few days. so it can be voted on by members of the Amalgamated Transit Union. TTC chairman Karl Mallette (left; at far end) headed the management delegation. The meeting was called by provincial mediator Jack Speranzini and Ontario assistant deputy minister of labor William Dickie; who joined negotiations this week.
