Original Toronto Star caption: Horton Tree Farm worker Jamie Hopkins shows young school children how a cut Christmas tree is tied up with a mesh net by machine to make it easier to carry. The youngsters got a better idea - and a good laugh - when one of their fellow pupils was trussed up by the binder. She emerged none the worse for wear and the youngsters returned home with their tree.

St. Nick? Keith Horton, president of the Christmas tree growers' association, donned a hat and pipe in the St. Nick tradition to entertain visitors at his tree farm in Vandorf, Ont., yesterday. At right, Gordon Gay with dogs Kashmir and Merlin head back to the car with their freshly cut tree. The farm is open daily.
