Original Toronto Star caption: Clarke. In 1951; James Clarke was assigned to the Anglican mission at Fort Chimo; 30 miles south of Ungava bay in Labrador. He had become a priest the year before. He and another man were the only Anglican priests in all of northern Quebec. He stayed for 23 years; ministering to Eskimos and Indians. Archdeacon Clarke; now administrator of the Diocese of the Arctic; remembers that first Christmas in the north.
