Original Toronto Star caption: Neither snow nor rain . . . As miserable as it was, there were thousands whose jobs forced them outside into slip-slide-sludge city. Mail carriers, for example, Clive Crowder, left, took a shovel to help him on his appointed rounds while a bicycle courier, centre, pedals through the sludge. Adding to the misery were savage winds that turned downtown into a windtunnel, buffeting pedestrians, like the girl, right. The storm was the worst of the winter for the Metro area.
