Original Toronto Star caption: Jack Poolton was one of the 1,946 Canadians taken prisoner by the German army at Dieppe, in August, 1942. In this special Remembrance Day account he recalls his liberation by the U.S. 9th rmy almost three years later. The picture at left was taken just before last Sunday's remembrance service, the one at right, in England in 1940.
