Original Toronto Star caption: Toronto's new police chief takes over, At his desk for the last time today, Toronto's retiring police chief James Mackey (left) smiles as he hands papers across to Deputy Chief Harold Adamson, 48, who is taking over the job. Mackey, 57, officially retires on June 1, but the remaining time includes holiday and accumulated time off. He was chief for 12 years. Before leaving, he bought coffee and doughnuts for 300 on the headquarters staff.
