Original Toronto Star caption: David Archer, the president of the Ontario Federation of Labor, addresses the federation's annual convention yesterday in the Four Seasons-Sheraton. Archer came under fire from the Canadian Union of Public Employees for his vote to allow three provincial employees associations to affiliate directly with the 1.8 million-member OFL, causing representatives of CUPE to consider pulling out of the federation on grounds that it was reneging on jurisdictional rights it gave CUPE six years ago. One speaker called on Archer to reconsider his stand or resign.
