Original Toronto Star caption: Giant Aircraft have ben proposed as a means of carrying gas or oil from the Arctic to populated areas. The concept is being developed by the Great Plains Project, which was set up by Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau's office in 1969. Great Plains chairman V. H. Atrill (smoking) is shown with the project's technical co-ordinator, G. A. Purdy, studying air routes. Each aircraft would cost $65 million.
