Original Toronto Star caption: Lois Hannal Elliot does the final work at a Georgetown foundry on a bronze statue of a young athlete. The statue is one of eight destined to hold up an arch at the entrance to the Olympic Village in Calgary. The figures began as plaster casts of Toronto athletes -- five male and three female -- and were sculpted by Toronto artist Colette Whiten.
