Original Toronto Star caption: The start of a 833 million Ontario Sports Training Centre was made yesterday when Jim Snow; the minister of government services; used a backhoe to turn the first sod. The centre; on 200 acres across the road from Bronte Creek Provincial Park; is schedule to open in 1979 with an international swimming meet. Its buildings and playing fields will be designed not just for training but also for competitions.
