Original Toronto Star caption: Swim stars meet on Friday. Univesity of Michigan swimmers; American intercollegiate champions; invade Canada for the first time this season when they oppose an array of Ontario all-stars at Central Y.M.C.A. Friday night. Feature of the outstanding bill will be the 440-yard event between Bob 'Boy' Pirie; generally regarded as Canada's chief bet in the 1936 Olympics; and Tex Robertson. American intercollegiate record-holder; for the distance. The two aces; shown above; will be striving to better the world record of 4 minuts 486-10 seconds; although judging from past performances; neither is likely to do it. Pirie's best time for the distance is 4 minutes; 56 seconds; while Robertson; though faster; has never bettered 4 minutes; 51 seconds. Pirie is shown in No.1; Robertson in No. 2.
