Original Toronto Star caption: Screaming teenage girls rush police lines at Nathan Phillips Square trying to get to the Bay City Rollers who made two three-minute appearances before hysterical mob forced them to give up. More than 90 per cent of the crowd of 65,000 were girls aged between 12 and 18. Some had waited as long as 29 hours to see Scottish rock group and first-aid attendants said they treated more than 400 girls, most of whom fainted. It was simple hysteria, attendant said.
