Original Toronto Star caption: North American high spirits have replaced the Viennese social satire in the Canadian Opera Company's production of Die Fledermaus at the O'Keefe Centre; says Star music critic William Littler. The champagne flows no less freely but remains domestic. Chambermaid Gwenlynn Little and Cornelis Opthof are examples of the good time that was had by all. Littler says Herman Geiger-Torel knows how to reach the Canadian funnybone. This is his last production.
