Original Toronto Star caption: Color covered the path of the Saturday parade that kicked off Caribana 71; the week-long celebration organized by Metro's West Indian community. These dancers; decked out in Caribbean costumes; wend their way through float trucks down Bloor St. The parade started at Varsity Stadium and made its way down to the piers at the foot of Yonge St. From there marchers and spectators by the thousands boarded ferries for the Toronto Islands festival site.
