Original Toronto Star caption: Unfinished sculpture by Montreal's Armand Vaillancourt sits beside the blast furnace used for melting down metal for the work. Toronto Board of Control last night approved spending $91;600 so that Vaillancourt can finish the statute; one of 12 done by different artists in an International Sculpture Sysmposim in High Park this summer. So far the symposium has cost the city $131;600. Alderman Hugh Bruce estimates the value of sculptor Vaillancourt's work at $250;000.
