Original Toronto Star caption: Standing at the entrance to Lakeview Park is the old Henry homestead; a landmark in Oshawa. It was built 120 years ago; and after the Mackenzie rebellion; afforded shelter to some of the fugitives from the King's men. Twenty years ago it was purchased by R. S. and George McLaughlin; and presented to Oshawa. Since then it has attracted thousands of visitors; for it is furnished in the quaint style of the old days.
