Original Toronto Star caption: An entrant in The Star Weekly's loveliest child contest; William; six-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. William Liga; 23 Wascana Ave.; was drowned before the eyes of his young playmates; when he fell into six feet of water in the Don river; a few hundred yards north of the Queen St. bridge. Only a few days ago he was discharged from the Hospital for Sick Children; Where he had been under observation for a feared appendicitis condition. An operation was not performed.
