Original Toronto Star caption: Only the driveway lingers on; This distinctive home; which had conservatories; tennis courts and a sunken rose garden; was once part of a large Newmarket farm owned by Hedley Shaw; vice-president of Maple Leaf Milling Co. Shaw bought the property for $200;000; a princely sum at the time; and built the house and lodge for $50;000; according to a real estate notice in 1938; when it was bought by Dr. G.H. Robinson of Baldwinsville; N.Y. It was torn down in the late 1950s to make way for development. What was once the driveway is a William Roe Blvd.
