Original Toronto Star caption: Said to be oldest house in Scarboro Township. The oldest house in Scarboro is located at the junction of Kingston Road and Eglinton Ave., according to James G. Cornell, former reeve of the township, on whose farm it is located. The cottage was built in the early thirties of last century, the home of Rev. W. S. Darling, rector of St. Margaret's Anglican church at West Hill until the founding of Christ church at Scarboro in 1846. The house has undergone many minor changes in 90 years including the addition of a second storey. It has a picturesque location in a grove of trees.
