Original Toronto Star caption: Where six were swept over powr dam when boat overturned in current. Four Toronto persons were drowned yesterday when their powerboat was swept over the Wasdell power dam, two miles north of Washago, with six persons in it. Dead are Mrs. Maisie Fitzgerald and her two children, Joan 7, and Maureen, 4, of Toronto, and Glen F. Lucas, 28, Toronto. Mrs. Lucas and Mr. Fitzgerald were saved, the former by Johnny Dean, Toronto swimmer. Caught in the terrific current the boat drifted towards the falls, turned over on some rocks and sent its occupants cascading over the dam. Here is the millpond above the dam, showing where the boat struck and the occupants were swept toward the falls.
