Original Toronto Star caption: The Last Girder is raised 951 feet to the top of the 72-storey First Canadian Place; built by the Bank of Montreal; on King St. W. yesterday the only taller structure on Toronto's skyline is the CN Tower which will rise 1;835 feet. The building now is the highest in Toronto and the eighth highest in the world. An official of the developing firm chided City Council for its bylaw limiting downtown construction.
