Two giant freighters peer across the waterfront from Pier 35 at the foot of Cherry Street. Taking on another load of cargo; the ships took advantage of warm afternoon sun to laze in harbor's cahn waters and make preparations for yet another port.

STEEL REINFORCING BARS and steel pipe-the backbone and arteries--jut up from the rising CN Tower on the Metro waterfront. Demand for steel is booming at a rate not seen since World War II. Canadian mills are straining at top capacity. One Bay St. analyst says there is no catching up for three years.
