Original Toronto Star caption: Opening the legislature; Premier William Davis escorts Lieutenant-Governor Pauline McGibbon to the Speaker's chair yesterday. It was the first time that Mrs. McGibbon had read the Speech from the Throne; and she confessed to being nervous. I had butterflies in my stomach all morning; she said. But she received compliments on her dignity during the ceremonies. Her dress; designed for the occasion; was decorated with trilliums; Ontario's floral emblem.
