Original Toronto Star caption: Smoke Billows from St. Lawrence Hall last night while firemen fight a blaze that broke out in the attic; drove more than 300 people out of the building and caused smoke and water damage to three floors of west wing. Party leaders Robert Nixon and Stephen Lewis; who were supposed to address the Algonquin Wildlands League; were among those forced to leave the building. It would be a shame to lose this building. Nixon said of the 123-year-old hall.
