Original Toronto Star caption: Entrance gates; chapel and lodge at the Necropolic were built in 1872. The burial ground just east of Parliament St. at the end of Winchester St. was established in 1850 and it contains the bodies of many famous Canadians; including George Brown; a Father of Confederation; assassinated in 1880.
