Original Toronto Star caption: Beautiful gothic church to replace old school; Another Toronto landmark will disappear when the old Bousted Ave. school (left); now occupied by the congregation of the High Park Presbyterian church; will be demolished to make place for the beautiful new Gothic structure (right). The property was donated to the city by the late John Howard more than 50 years ago and purchased by the High Park Presbyterian church from the board of education after the church union disruption in 1925. The proposed new structure was designed by J. Francis Brown and Son; architects; and will embody a perpendicular Gothic motif. The building; 45 feet by 125 feet; will occupy a site having a frontage of 66 feet on Bousted Ave. and a depth of 266 feet to Radford Ave.; on which street there is a frontage of 66 feet. The structure will be of select brick and cut stone; with an open Gothic timber roof and windows of stained glass. The project will cost in the neighborhood of $75;000.00
