Original Toronto Star caption: Effiong Okon tugged off his unfamiliar overshoes; braced himself; then entered his new class at Davisville Public School. A guy's first day at school can be a frightening experience; and it was no exception for the 11-year-old Biafran boy brought to Toronto by architect Murray Ross and his wife. However; teacher Mrs. Barbara Smith put her arms around him; introduced the lanky boy to her great group of kids; then set about explaining curriculum. He'll stay for a year.
