Original Toronto Star caption: New $60,000 Loblaw store. Purchase by Loblaw Groceterias Co., Ltd., for $60,000 of the former Metropolitan Stores Co, building, located on the north side of St. Clair Ave., west of Dufferin St., was announced this week. The Loblaw Co. will readjust the premises for their own business and will occupy the building in two months. United Cigar Stores will occupy separate premises in the building. Faith in the future of Toronto business has encouraged the Loblaw Co. to continue their program of expansion.
