Original Toronto Star caption: T. T. C. Buying property for bus terminal. Toronto Transportation Commission is acquiring properties at Nos. 5 and 7 Wellington street east; which will be used as a bus and radial loading terminal; in conjunction with other properties fronting on Front street; just east of the Public Utilities building; as is shown in the ABOVE map of the properties. A 30 foot lane divides the properties and this will eventually be included in the space to be used; which will give a depth of 244 feet from Front to Wellington. Both Wellington properties; for which $115;000 is being paid; belong to the P. Jacobi Shoe firm; which occupies No. 5. The other property is vacant. It is the plan to ultimately tear down the Wellington street buildings and the adjacent Front street building; to provide the loading space required.
