Original Toronto Star caption: R. J. Christie home sold to Sisters of St. Joseph. When the home of the late Robert Jaffray Christie, at 25 Queen's Park, was sold yesterday to Mr. Leonard Smith, who is said to be acting for the Sisters of St. Joseph, the only freehold property in Queen's Park changed hands. The reported price is $125,000. The total assessment on the property is $76,311 and it is situated at the northeast corner of St. Alban's street, opposite the new Whitney government block. The late William Christie originally bought the property from the authorities of the University of Toronto, who at first desired to give the lands on a rental basis, but after consideration sold the property outright. Upon his death, Robert J. Christie, his son, wished to enlarge the residence and obtained further land from the University officials.
