Original Toronto Star caption: Bought by university. The old Beardmore home just acquired by the University of Toronto for $200,000. The property originally formed part of a Crown grant, in 1798, to the Hon. Peter Russell, who succeeded Governor Simcoe as President of Council of Upper Canada.
