Above is a photograph of Benvenuto, former palatial home of the late Sir William Mackenzie, Canadian railway magnate, which is now in the hands of the wreckers. Teperman and Sons, Van Horne St., are in charge of the work demolition, and their contract calls for the complete razing of the building by November 1. A modern apartment house structure will likely be erected on its site."

"Benvenuto" was built by Simeon H. Janes in 1888, purchased by Sir William Mackenzie in 1897, and demolished in October 1931.
