Original Toronto Star caption: The Driveway. The Mackenzie mansion on Avenue Road Hill is one of the costliest in Canada. Overlooking the city and Lake Ontario, the view is unsurpassed. From "Benvenuto", the Royal Party will see Toronto at its best.

Image may have been republished in the Toronto Star, October 1931?, with this caption: "Benvenuto to be wrecked. Above is a photograph of Benvenuto, former palatial home of the late Sir William Mackenzie, Canadian railway magnate, which is now in the hands of the wreckers. Teperman and Sons, Van Horne St., are in charge of the work demolition, and their contract calls for the complete razing of the building by November 1. A modern apartment house structure will likely be erected on its site."

"Benvenuto" was built by Simeon H. Janes in 1888, purchased by Sir William Mackenzie in 1897, and demolished in October 1931.
