Original Toronto Star caption: Purchase will make bathurst extension possible. The board of control to-day approved the recommendation of Commissioner Harris to purchase the plant of the Canada Packing Co. to permit of the construction of the Bathurst St. bridge. The purchase will allow the straight rather than an angular extension of Bathurst St. The above picture shows he plant for which the city will pay $325;000; the bridge as it stands; and the diagram to the left the extension to be made through the newly-acquired property.
