Vincent Massey will lay the foundation stone of the new convalescent hospital of the Sister of St. John the Divine on Cummer Ave. east of Yonge St.; at Stop 11. The dream of the sisterhood for which the public subscribed the funds in December; 1933; is rapidly being fulfilled in red brick. deep red tile; surmounted by a tower with symbolic cupola and tower. Here; in the spring; when the building is opened; convalescent patients. irrespective of race of creed; will have all the advantage of life in the open-air and sunlight; combined with physiotherapy and occupational therapy; even light work in the flower and vegetables gardens; for all the vegetables used will be grown on the spacious grounds of the new institution.
