Original Toronto Star caption: June in January -- in a greenhouse garden. His garden outside a miniature house inside the greenhouse Gardens; 67-year-old Cedric Andrew works in shirtsleeves waters the plants in the comfortable 70 degree temperature. Outside the greenhouse; the wind was howling and the temperature was well below freezing. Andrew has been with the Parks department for 13 years; and for eight of them he has een at Allan Gardens. [Incomplete]

Horticulturist Andrew Benn of Scarborough waters plants in his exotic tropical greenhouse where he grows sugar cane, orchids, pineapples and bananas along with regular vegetables. The native of Guyana is teaching courses on indoor and outdoor gardening for beginners and advanced gardeners. His classroom is his greenhouse in his backyard on Vauxhall Dr. Classes started today and will run for 8 weeks.
