Original Toronto Star caption: A grazing horse is the sole occupant of the Toronto Union stockyards today. Meatless days in the literal meaning of the words have hit the city as a result of the impasse between meat packers and producers. Not a single steer went into the pens of the stockyards Thursday or Friday. By tonight there will not be even a sausage in the city retail stores. Many butchers in Toronto are closing early or have gone fishing.
