Original Toronto Star caption: Spadina foes come to dead end. A guard orders a couple in the audience to roll up their anti-Spadina signs during the debate on whether or not to go ahead with the $237 million expressway held in City Hall council chamber last night. As expected; council approved plans to extend the expressway by an overwhelming vote. Spadina foes in the audience clapped and cheered and interrupted meeting several times; but there were no incidents.
