Unfinished business: Isaac Ehrlich prepares for jewelry sale and the eventual disposal of his father's jewelry store in Leaside. Ehrlich's father, Israel, who had operated the Bayview Ave. shop for 22 years, was gunned down Dec. 8. Now, says Isaac, the store holds too many memories for the family to keep it operating.

Final check: John Crook of Oshawa inspects one of the steam engines he has built. Some of his collection will be on display at the Steam Threshing Days in Uxbridge this weekend. He grew to love steam engines while helping on his father's farm in the 1930s.
