Original Toronto Star caption: Old landmark at Bloor and Yonge Sts. will disappear under the wrecker's hammer in January to make way for a 34-storey office-commercial-apartment complex. Scheduled for demolition are two Bank of Commerce branches and a tavern sandwiched between the two banks. Building at the corner was built in 1899. Top three floors were occupied by the Toronto Ladies' Club from 1935 until 1970.
